The Radioactive Source Security Officer Training (RSSO) is a training program designed to provide knowledge and skills to security personnel responsible for securing radioactive sources. Its purpose is to ensure that these officers can perform their duties safely and effectively, while preventing misuse or leakage of radioactive materials that could endanger society and the environment. The training is focused on further developing the participants’ technical knowledge and skills on the physical protection and security management of radioactive sources, along with the knowledge and methods of the systematic approach to training as adapted to the subject matter and applied to national or local circumstances. Associated matters of radiation protection and regulatory assessment and inspection are not specifically within scope of the Training.
